What happens if you take Auntie Ethel's deal? ›

The first time you meet Auntie Ethel, she'll offer to cure you of your parasite - do not take this deal! She just takes your eye, permanently giving you a stat penalty and not curing you of anything. However, if you can lower her health significantly in the boss fight without killing her, she offers you a new deal.

She will ultimately fail to remove the parasite because it's been "tampered with", but if you complain after her breaking the deal, she'll also give you Auntie Ethel's Charm.

The fortress of Wyrm's Rock served two main roles for the city of Baldur's Gate. First and foremost it was bulwark that protected the city from the sea. The other was as a toll-collecting site, at a cost of 5 cp, for all travelers headed north along the Trade Way.

There are options to walk away from the situation with better stats and a cleaner conscience, so it's best not ignore this villain completely either.

Once you get Ethel's health low enough, she will stop the fight and ask to make you a deal. She will beg you to leave and let her keep Mayrina in exchange for her giving you power. This takes the form of an ability boost.

Allowing Auntie Ethel to take your eye changes the appearance of one eye of your choice and gives you Paid the Price (Condition). You cannot take this deal if Volo has already replaced one of your eyes or if you are playing as Wyll.

Sometimes, if Ethel is weak enough, she may try to plead her way out of her dire situation, offering an extra ability point if you allow her to take Mayrina and flee. You can accept or not, although some characters may be able to chase her off and earn both Mayrina's freedom and the ability point.

However, for the time being, having Gortash on the party's side comes in handy. Being able to walk around the Lower City unbothered makes Act Three go much more smoothly, and there are plenty of places to make up the lost XP.

How to get Florrick out of jail? ›

Freeing Florrick

It's possible to cast Invisibility on Florrick, as the guards will only turn hostile if she is spotted. Otherwise, liberal use of Misty Step or Dimension Door can also bring Florrick out of the cell, and the guards do not pursue her once she has left through the crack in the wall.

Players don't technically need to fight Auntie Ethel. In fact, they can have a purely amicable relationship with her. But outside the most evil-aligned players, you will want to stop the vicious monster.
